Friday October 2008 ~ Roxana & Ben's Wedding
"Dear Tony. Thank you for an amazing day of photography, and I feel fortunate that you were part of our special day. Thank you so much and it was so much fun to have you shoot our wedding... you have an awesome eye and the pictures are really beautiful."
When I first met with Roxana this year at her friends' weddings whom I photographed, Roxana was so excited with the thought of planning her own upcoming wedding. Months later when I sat down with Roxana and Ben to discuss the details of their wedding, both were just as giddy.
Well, the smile here says it all. Someone's getting married today! :)
To share her excitement, our bride was on the phone talking to many of her family members and friends to let them know how she was feeling. One of the people she loved most was her father as she reminded him how much she loved him.
Instead of the customary tradition of seeing his bride for the first time during the ceremony, Roxana and Ben had planned a special moment to see each other alone before the ceremony. With the help of her cute flower girls, Roxana approached our anxious Ben. Upon see her in her beautiful wedding gown for the first time, Ben was all smiles.
Greeted with much enthusiasm from their guests, our couple entered the site to host their traditional Persian ceremony. The Persian ceremony is one of my favorites as it is full of interesting traditions. Among them is when the bride and groom feed each other with a bit of honey which symbolizes the sweetness of life together.
